As the concern that the seriousness of global environmental problems represented as environmental pollution and depletion of resources would threaten the sustainable life of mankind is growing, one of the main causes of environmental problems, "sustainability" issue of industrial activities, is emerging as a key task in the 21st century. The concept of a "sustainable development industry" derived from the role of industry related to sustainable development is defined as enabling sustainable industrial activities by minimizing the use of environment resources or environmental pollution throughout the entire industrial activity so as to maintain or improve the quality of life for present and future generations as well as maximizing industrial productivity. The remanufacturing industry is spotlighted as a new sustainable development industry as it is known to have excellent energy and resource savings because it requires only 9 to 14% of energy and raw materials used for new product production.
Currently, more than 80,000 companies in the world are trading at about $ 60 billion each year in more than 50 core products and employ over 500,000 people, which surpasses the steel industry in terms of size and has a higher contribution than solar and wind energy in terms of energy savings.
Changing your mind and your behavior becomes a valuable resource.
Remanufacturing is one of the manufacturing methods which restores the function and performance of the product or part has reached the end of its life to specifications of the original manufactured product through reassembly process of complete disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair and adjustment, and new product assembly process. The difference between general manufacturing and remanufacturing is to use used product or parts as raw materials without using new raw materials
In order to revitalize the domestic remanufacturing industry, the Korean government amended the Act on the Promotion of the Conversion into Environment-Friendly Industrial Structure on July 11, 2006, to provide the minimum legal basis for the institutionalization of remanufacturing, including support and quality certification for remanufacturing. If the domestic remanufacturing industry is revitalized, it is expected to have an economic effect of saving about 630 billion won in energy and resources per year.
In addition, the Korean government expressed that ink and toner cartridge remanufacturing industry is expected to have an employment creation effect of more than 4,700 people when upgrading remanufacturing to labor-intensive industries where automation works such as disassembly, inspection, and assembly are difficult.
Seo Kwang, founded in 1985 with an aim of protecting our environment from the environmental destruction caused by waste and contributing to the resource saving through the utilization of waste resources, has been remanufacturing all types of toner cartridges which offer the same quality level as the new ones through the process of systemic collection, disassembly, cleaning, replacing with new parts and adjustment, inspection, and reassembly of used and waste cartridges in Korea. It is necessary to solve the problem of environmental destruction caused by waste in order to realize a sustainable society under the social structure of the mass consumption system in the 21st century.
In developed countries, "remanufacturing" is one of the solutions to this problem. In this context, Seokwang has been actively participating in the "remanufacturing" industry based on the technology accumulated over 30 years since its foundation and will achieve the following goals. Our first goal is to greatly increase the domestic recycling rate by producing remanufactured toner cartridges with a high quality competitive to the original product and making consumers use them. Our second goal is to increase the recycling rate of discarded parts such as drums and PCR by actively promoting the development of new technologies to increase the utilization of waste resources.
Our third goal is to have a key part in environmental conservation as a well-established environmentally friendly company which is a small hidden champion with technology while focusing on finding out the remanufacturable items and developing the technology in the image related industry. more info
